Ross Lake Run

24 miles out and back on the East Bank trail along Ross Lake in the North Cascades National Park.

Unbelievable weather, a gorgeous trail, and a beautiful lake. The water was this beautiful alpine-lake blue, fed by cascading creeks off of distant glaciers.

Still figuring out this trail running thing, especially nutrition: after a few hours I wasn’t haven’t a great time getting down the food we brought (Clif bars, chews, gus), and started bonking pretty bad.

By the end of it, we were stoked, with fried legs. Not a bad place to be after trail running! We made our way back to a relaxing campground at Colonial Creek to round out a relaxing weekend in the mountains.

Awesome views from the trail.

You'd think this would be somewhere in the Caribbean, not in NCNP.
